Summary:

Berberian Nut Company is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Processing Plant Intern to join our walnut processing team. The Processing Intern provides BNC the opportunity to develop and evaluate future qualified candidates and interns a hands-on experience to learn and prepare for potential positions within AgReserves, Inc.

Responsibilities:

• Shadow the BNC Way Team and learn the Processing Standards, Safety and Food Safety Policies.
• Identify Process and Personnel inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
• Follow BNC Way Metrics and help implement continuous improvements.
• Present findings and provide an analysis report to the Unit Managers and Plant Manager.
• Actively participate and engage during trainings, group conversations, and management meetings.
• Learn the plant, division, and company's culture and expectations.
• Promote a positive attitude that encourages others to meet company objectives and priorities.
• Be willing to assist where needed.
• Work within company-established policies and procedures as well as Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Notify management immediately of any food or employee safety issues and concerns.
• Champion a best-in-class safety program by attending all safety training, complying with all food safety programs, using PPE and adhering to all other EHS programs.

Qualifications:

• A valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or food processing helpful.
• Professional and proactive attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Strong demonstrated interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft tools and ability to learn in-house systems and databases.
• Available to work long shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, per business needs.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which includes regularly lifting and moving up to 50lbs, as well as specific vision and communication abilities.
