Description
Summary
This position is responsible for the supervision of the convenience store employees and the day to day operations. Performs all duties assigned in accordance with Rolling Hills Casino policies and procedures. Provides excellent guest service at all times. This position will be a floating shift and covering all days off for other supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Improves staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for employees.
- Directs assignments, assist with work schedules, and approves time.
- Handles all customer complaints and takes corrective action as needed.
- Responsible for stocking products on shelves and making sure the store looks clean and professional at all times.
- Balances and reconciles cash & credit card transactions and cash drawers
- Operates Point of Sale (POS) system on a daily basis.
- Poses strong computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
- Orders merchandise, prepares requisitions and inventory.
- Ensures prompt reconciliation of store paperwork.
- Keeps controls of inventory and shrinkage.
- Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous customer service to store customers, vendors and staff.
- Maintains a customer friendly environment in the store and surrounding property.
- Supports and updates the Manager in all aspects of the store's operation.
- Fix gas related issues such as drive offs and pumps being down.
- Monitor sales, COGS, and purchases for the convenience store.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures.
- Attends periodic and regular trainings and meetings.
- Follows established company and departmental standards for personal appearance and behavior.
- Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises 5-8 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising, scheduling, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees. Responsible for addressing complaints and resolving problems for employees as well as guests.
Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three years in guest service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required. Knowledge Microsoft Office required. Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems required.
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply-common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must pass background screening. Valid California drivers license. Must obtain Title 31 certification as trained by Rolling Hills Casino.
