Digital Path is the leading Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) providing internet service to rural communities and critical fire response networks throughout California. Summary:

As the Field Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting Digital Path's core values, setting a positive and professional example while effectively communicating the company's culture to assigned members of our Field Operations team. You will act as the crucial link between the field teams and management, ensuring that communication flows smoothly and that everyone is aligned with the company's mission, policies, and procedures. Your day will involve coordinating team activities, from customer installations to service calls and site inspections, making sure that all tasks are completed correctly and efficiently. You will oversee daily operations of Field Teams spanning several counties, including newly expanded service areas, while fulfilling supervisory duties related to time and attendance records, employee reviews, and per diem calculations for your direct reports. You will be responsible for guiding and supporting your team, fostering their development, and ensuring a productive and positive work environment.

Additional Information:

  • This position is a full-time position on-site at our office in Chico, CA. Occasionally needed for in-field work.
  • A typical work week is 8 hours daily Monday through Friday.
  • You will be expected to work some overtime on a regular basis, and significant overtime occasionally.
  • There is a possibility of a significant amount of time spent driving, sometimes 3-4 hours or more at a time.

Minimum Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities (detailed below), overseeing the day-to-day operation of Field Installer Technicians including providing support, training, and ensuring completion of projects.
  • Competently perform the work of the field technicians you are supervising, for the purpose of training and/or emergency coverage.
  • Control the morning operations in a timely manner by ensuring the team deploys in a timely manner each day.
  • Ensure at the end of shift the team return equipment labeled correctly and in proper location, enforcing installer area is organized and maintained up to company standards.
  • Work in the field, including training new employees on policies, procedures, and safety observations.
  • Responsible for fleet management utilizing Samsara platform and other technology to schedule vehicle maintenance.
  • Report safety incidents immediately, investigate and complete the safety incident documentation.
  • Remain knowledgeable and current on all company policies and employment wage & hour laws.
  • Oversee scheduling decisions while working together and making any adjustments to reduce cost.
  • Interact with customers to resolve escalated issues.
  • Correct employee timecards in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Meet administrative deadlines as required by support departments (accounting, payroll, HR, etc.)
  • Manage inventory for all Field employees and remote locations.
  • Validate remote storage facilities are maintained and up to company standard.
  • Handle and validate funds for employee travel and work responsibilities.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, and ensure your employees do the same.
  • Attend work on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise direct reports by selecting, assigning, and coordinating work and overtime schedules.
  • Ensure employees' work maintains the safety and efficiency of the department.
  • Train employees in adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and laws.
  • Lead communication efforts when required during emergencies, injuries, and other incidents.
  • Review and evaluate the work of direct reports and perform timely, fair, and non-discriminatory evaluation of performance of assigned direct reports.
  • Perform reviews in a way that displays high professional standards.
  • Collaborate with management /HR and recommend selection, promotion, discharge, and other appropriate personnel actions.
  • Participate in investigations while maintaining confidentiality as required.
  • Coordinate the training and any trade certification needs for Field Technicians direct reports. Manages and oversees the progression through training programs for Field Technician direct reports.
  • Take corrective action when problems, performance and/or other issues develop with employees.
  • Onboard and train new hires assigned as direct reports.
  • Maintain Field Technician direct reports schedules, track attendance, leave, or other scheduling concerns for assigned employees.
  • Resolve employee issues, disputes, and conflicts. Properly escalates to management and/or HR.
  • Coordinate across departments for HR, Payroll, and other cross-functional interactions.
  • Ensure company and departmental policies, practices, and procedures are followed by all assigned team members.
  • Validate employee timecards in a timely and accurate manner.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (0 to 1 point and no DUIs).
  • Able to operate a vehicle with manual transmission is a plus.
  • Experience in wireless installation for residential and business customers, including terminating CAT6 cable, setting up small networks and mounting hardware.
  • 3 years of formal supervisory job experience preferred but not required.
  • Solid computer skills with Office 365 and stand-alone applications such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • To comply with safety and equipment requirements, body weight cannot exceed 250 lbs.
  • Proven ability to adhere to all safety standards and promote a safe working environment.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Present a professional appearance, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to think critically, independently, and utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pivot between multiple priorities and projects as needed.

  • Ability to consistently work full-time on-site Monday through Friday during the operational hours of the department.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 58 lbs. from ground level to above head level.
  • Frequently sitting(driving) and walking (up to 6 hours at a time).
  • Bend, stoop, kneel for 25-35 minutes at a time.
  • Stand, bend, and twist (neck & waist), climb, kneel, squat constantly throughout the day.
  • Able to accurately understand and distinguish between varying colors and shades of colors.
  • Frequent to constant use of both hands, including fine manipulation and keyboarding.
  • Grasping (simple & power), pushing and pulling with both hands.
  • Frequent to constant reaching, both above and below shoulder level.

The pay range for this role is:

30 - 35 USD per hour (Headquarters)
