Under the general supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, Supervisor, or Director, the Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and guidance of the Radiation Oncologist. This role involves close collaboration with nursing, dosimetry, clerical staff, and physicians to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. The therapist will primarily work in the outpatient Cancer Center, Radiation Therapy Department, with occasional floating as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients with accuracy and precision.
• Operate and maintain Varian Radiation Therapy equipment and software.
• Utilize EPIC for electronic charting and maintain accurate treatment records.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and follow patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards.
• Provide patient education and address concerns regarding radiation therapy procedures.
• Assist in SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery) and SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy) treatments..

289357Current California State License in Therapeutic Radiologic Technology.Current CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association).ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist.Clinical experience using Varian Radiation Therapy equipment and software.Experience in SRS and SBRT treatment procedures.Proficiency with EPIC charting systems.
