The Traffic Control Worker is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic control zones to ensure the safe and efficient flow of vehicles and pedestrians around Greentek worksites. This role supports vegetation management, utility line clearance, and other field operations by maintaining strict compliance with Caltrans, MUTCD, and local safety standards.

Position Overview
The Traffic Control Worker is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic control zones to ensure the safe and efficient flow of vehicles and pedestrians around Greentek worksites. This role supports vegetation management, utility line clearance, and other field operations by maintaining strict compliance with Caltrans, MUTCD, and local safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and remove traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and flagging devices according to approved traffic control plans.
Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic using flags, paddles, and hand signals.
Maintain constant communication with crew members to ensure worksite safety.
Inspect, clean, and maintain traffic control equipment in good working condition.
Monitor and adjust traffic control setups as site conditions change.
Assist crews with site preparation, cleanup, and logistics as directed by the supervisor.
Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures, including the use of PPE, and immediately report any hazards or near-miss incidents.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
Required: Current ATSSA or CATTSA Flagger or Traffic Control Technician certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Required: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, uneven terrain).
Excellent situational awareness and communication skills.
Team-oriented with a commitment to safety and reliability.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in traffic control, construction, or vegetation management.
Knowledge of Caltrans and MUTCD standards.
Valid driver's license
