**Senior Manager, Solution Architecture - VMware App Navigator**Digital transformation is accelerating as organizations everywhere aggressively move toward public and hybrid cloud, edge and 5G technologies to compete and win in the modern world. But, too often that planning is slow, analysis is fraught with assumptions and (let's face it) often ends up being wrong.Rapid Portfolio Modernization (RPM) is a prescribed set of consulting services used to accelerate and unlock complex digital transformation initiatives. RPM is delivered by a global team of specialist Solution Architects and Program Strategists, who find opportunity within the application portfolio using powerful discovery tools, define iterative roadmaps using proven techniques and drive “reasonable first steps” forward with hands-on agile practices. We are looking for a dynamic person to lead our team of Solution Architects in the Americas, manage the team, engage the partner ecosystem, partner with sales and evolve our delivery capabilities.**Success in the Role: What performance outcomes will you be working toward over the first 6-12 months?**As leader for the Solution Architecture team in the Americas, you will have accountability for people, sales support, engagement delivery and operations, as part of a rapid growth consulting business. Success in the first year includes:+ Recruiting, onboarding and successful integration of diverse top talent+ Guide the professional development of consulting staff including coaching, feedback, performance evaluation and compensation review (low attrition < 10%)+ Partner with sales and sales leadership around RPM enablement and usage to improve software subscription sales pipeline (increase deal attach over FY22)+ Oversee customer engagement - delivery oversight - to assure positive and consistent experiences (increase % of follow-on product and services over FY22)+ Lead strategic customer engagements to identify application modernization and cloud migration opportunities. Develop and present strategy and roadmaps aligned with customer digital transformation objectives+ Identify required changes to delivery practices, methodologies, and tools. Oversee the development of new tool capabilities and work with internal and external partners to continue maturing the practice capabilities+ Implement Delivery Excellence tools and methodologies to maintain a strong record of high-quality proposals and engagement deliverables+ Develop references / testimonials from internal and external customers (as measured by internal case studies and customer sessions at industry conferences).+ Engagement of ecosystem partners - embedding our tooling in their service offerings, and alignment of their scale programs with our RPM motion (as measured by number of SI partner engagements).**The Work: What type of work will you be doing? As leader for the SA team in the Americas you should expect a variety of the following:+ Developing practices, methodologies, and tools to support the delivery and scalability of RPM offerings+ Leading executive presentations with confidence; facilitating key meetings and workshops, using tools and practices to help understand a problem space and lead senior-level stakeholders toward potential solutions+ Facilitating workshops, using Domain Driven Design and agile techniques to understand system design and plan future state architectures+ Creating documentation, code artifacts and other customer-facing assets that accomplish intended project objectives+ Pair programming with clients and other VMware colleagues to build/modernize software based on the team's backlog+ Working with customer teams to enable them in application modernization practices+ Contributing back to the VMware team through mentorship, giving talks, and experience reports+ Working in an advisory and sponsorship capacity across multiple projects; jumping in directly when necessary to maximize quality and customer satisfaction+ Obtaining continuous feedback from the field, including customers, bringing IP back to corporate teams and making recommendations on future service offerings+ Recruiting, hiring, coaching, motivating a specialized team of Solution Architects to deliver, iterate and rapidly improve services that target VMware customers on a cloud journey+ Harvesting and disseminating services templates to help future customers accelerate and improve their outcomes based on content based on previously delivered projects+ Maintaining an ongoing deep understanding of the VMware product portfolio and how our services catalog enables, accelerates, and enhances customer outcomes+ Balancing a large number of competing priorities in a federated, fast-moving work environment+ Willingness to travel, often without much notice, when a qualified sales, delivery or team related opportunity arises.**What is the leadership team like?
