TE Connectivity is looking for experienced Field Application Engineer to serve as a technical resource for our customers engineers and program/platform managers, providing expert support and advancing our companys interests.

Job Overview

TE Connectivitys Field Application Engineering Teams work closely with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, modify requirements, and deliver on?site installation and service of products. The Field Application Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle, from opportunity identification and solution determination through demand creation, technical marketing support, and high?quality project execution, including follow?up technical support.

Job Requirements

  • Support product & process qualifications
  • Be the initial point of contact for the customers local engineering group
  • Function as the technical interface between the customers engineers and the TE engineering community on all existing products, while focusing on new product development opportunities
  • Actively contribute to new product development opportunities for TE at the customer, including conceptual design modeling
  • Interact directly with key customers daily and coordinate deliverables related to customer projects (new products, product modifications, test studies, signal integrity modeling, etc.)
  • Establish relationships with key customer engineering contacts and decision makers
  • Gain a solid understanding of the customers product set and future roadmap
  • Gain a solid understanding of TE Digital Data Networks products
  • Use VOC (Voice of Customer) tools to understand the accounts technology and strategic direction
  • Communicate customer needs to internal TE teams to initiate projects
  • Support a cross?functional, global team specific to the customer (Program Manager, Quality Engineering, Logistics, Procurement, Operations, Sales)
  • Penetrate customers design cycle to be involved in early stages of new product/platform planning
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure that they meet the customers needs and act as a conduit to the customer
  • Represent and advocate for the customer
  • Support existing applications and products, including tolerance analysis, application evaluation, and testing

Background Requirements
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Systems discipline preferred)
  • At least 8+ years of engineering experience in connector knowledge
  • Knowledge of stamping, molding, plating, and automated product assembly manufacturing processes
  • Experience in development engineering and participation in the full product development cycle
  • Some knowledge of electronics components (connectors, electronic relays, wire & cable) is preferred
  • Demonstrated project leadership, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, listening, and networking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels
  • Computer proficiency, including 3D Design Applications
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Experience reading/interpreting production?level drawings and performing basic tolerance analysis
