Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision provides patient transport services as allowed by NVIH at assigned site(s). Performs facility and landscaping maintenance and repair in support of daily operations. This position may be utilized as a back-up support staff to others sites as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The list that follows is not intended as a comprehensive list, but rather to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) will be required to perform a variety of duties listed, including but not limited to:

Transportation

  • Provide daily patient transport as scheduled according to NVIH transport policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and submit accurate logs and related records.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, reliability and safety of the vehicle according to the written policy and procedure; including but not limited to daily service checks and tasks for GSA vehicles
  • Courier duties: timely delivery of items to each location, maintain delivery log, obtain proper signature for confidential items per procedures.
Maintenance / Facilities
  • Maintain curb appeal daily.
  • Escorting vendors and help with carpet cleaning
  • Participate in the daily operations of the Agency by performing minor maintenance and repair and light cleaning activities, policing the external grounds, daily checks of the physical building and parking areas..
  • Maintain inventory and request janitorial supplies according to written policy and procedure.
  • Assist in obtaining supplies for or from other clinics, as requested.
  • Participate in the safety inspections, attend safety meetings, and assist in maintaining compliance with facility and vehicle safety protocols
  • Landscaping duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous and respectful patient service.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Report essential patient information to the respective NVIH clinic/service provider in a timely manner.
  • Maintain open communications with all coworkers and supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Due to insurance purposes must be 21 years old or older
  3. Valid California driver's license.
  4. Must maintain a clean driving record throughout employment in accordance with NVIH policy
Must be able to maintain an extremely high degree of confidentiality and adhere to all requirements of NVIH confidentiality policies
  1. Work independently under limited supervision, prioritizes work assignments,
  2. Able to read, write, follow instructions, prepare reports and to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  1. Ability to engage in team collaboration and demonstrates a caring and compassionate commitment to the patient and their unique circumstances.
  2. Exhibit empathy and customer service to diffuse and manage conflict within the team and with patients or their representatives.
  3. Ability to operate power tools, i.e., leaf blower, hedge trimmer, etc.
  4. Reliable Transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance.
