Job Summary:

The Cleaning and Maintenance Specialist ensures a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout the site, including both interior and exterior areas. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with cleanliness standards and enhancing the overall aesthetics of the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

Interior Cleaning:

  • Conduct routine cleaning and sanitization of offices, restrooms, break rooms, and communal spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors diligently.
  • Dust and clean surfaces, including desks, windows, and equipment.
  • Restock supplies such as soap and paper towels in all areas.
  • Dispose of trash and recycling from designated points.
  • Manage cleaning emergencies promptly (e.g., spills or unexpected messes).

Exterior Cleaning:

  • Keep building entrances, parking lots, and walkways clean and inviting.
  • Clear debris and litter from outside areas.
  • Power wash sidewalks, walls, and other exterior fixtures when necessary.
  • Ensure walkways are clear of leaves and snow for safety.
  • Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of exterior waste bins.

Equipment and Supplies:

  • Operate and care for cleaning machinery like floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Keep cleaning supplies stocked and organized.
  • Monitor inventory and initiate restocking as necessary.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Follow all company guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Supervisor immediately.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with special cleaning projects such as deep cleaning and seasonal tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a clean and safe site.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in janitorial or custodial roles, ideally in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Understanding of cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Work Conditions:

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, outdoor conditions, and physical activities like lifting or bending is expected.
  • May require operating specialized equipment to clean high surfaces safely.
