Job Details:Start Date: Open Until Filled.Qualifications:High School graduate or equivalentMedical Terminology course preferredCurrent BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cros for healthcare providersno previous experience requiredAbility to demonstrate use of various equipment including, but not limited to computer, photocopy machine and present telephone systemAbility to relate well with physicians, patients of all ages, and co-workersAbility to prioritize and problem solveMaintain a calm and reasonable attitude at all timesKeeps all information regarding patients confidentialDuties & Responsibilities:Job SummaryThe Patient Transporter is responsible for assisting on a daily basis with maintaining the appropriate level of department flow by greeting patients upon admission and transporting patients to appropriate destinations.DutiesTransports patients to various hospital departments before and after procedures as neededObtains old charts and history and physicals from Medical Records DepartmentAnswer incoming phone lines and transfer when neededParticipate in unit meetings and educational activities in order to develop skills and grow in awarenessMaintain cleanliness of patient areasTransports patient via wheelchair to private transportation vehicle after dischargeTyping and collecting all items requestedDelivery of medical records to proper locationsFiling pertinent items.Any other duties as assigned by SupervisorOther Info:Lifting Requirements: Heavy lifting: up to 100 Ibs. maximum with frequent and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 Ibs.
