About the Role

Auto Transport Claims (ATC) is seeking an experienced claims professional to join our growing team.

We specialize in managing vehicle damage claims for auto transport brokers, carriers, dealerships, fleet companies, and other businesses withinthe automotive transportation industry.

Our mission is simple: to provide the smoothest, most professional claims experience in auto transportation.

We're looking for someone who can independently investigate claims, evaluate liability, communicate with multiple parties, and take ownership of claims from initial reporting through final resolution.

Previous auto transport experience is not required. Candidates with experience in auto physical damage, commercial auto, transportation, cargo, property and casualty, insurance adjusting, fleet claims, or similar claims environments are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with experience filing and managing insurance claims, working directly with insurance adjusters, navigating coverage disputes, and negotiating settlements are especially encouraged to apply. We are willing to offer higher compensation for candidates who bring strong insurance expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a caseload of auto transport damage claims from intake through resolution.
  • Investigate reported vehicle damage and determine the facts surrounding each loss.
  • Review bills of lading, pickup and delivery inspections, photographs, driver statements, repair estimates, and supporting documentation.
  • Compare vehicle condition before and after transportation to identify potential transport-related damage.
  • Identify pre-existing damage, inconsistencies, and unsupported claims.
  • Evaluate carrier responsibility based on available evidence and documentation.
  • Communicate directly with vehicle owners, dealerships, brokers, transportation companies, drivers, repair facilities, and insurance representatives.
  • Obtain additional statements, documentation, repair estimates, and inspections when necessary.
  • Review repair estimates for reasonableness and identify unrelated, excessive, or unsupported charges.
  • Negotiate claim settlements and work toward fair, well-documented resolutions.
  • Determine when claims should be pursued directly with transportation companies or submitted to insurance.
  • Prepare and submit supporting documentation for insurance claims.
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding liability, coverage, appraisals, estimates, settlements, and claim status.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding insurance claims, disputed claims, and unresolved matters.
  • Assist with complex, high-dollar, and total-loss vehicle claims.
  • Identify time-sensitive issues involving storage, towing, mitigation, and additional expenses.
  • Maintain accurate claim notes, documentation, and investigation findings.
  • Provide timely and professional updates to customers and business partners.
  • Handle difficult conversations and disputed claims professionally.
  • Escalate significant coverage, legal, liability, or financial concerns to management.
  • Assist with training and supporting junior claims team members.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to internal claims procedures as ATC continues to grow.
Qualifications
  • Previous professional claims handling experience required.
  • Strong understanding of claims investigation, documentation, and resolution.
  • Ability to evaluate evidence, assess responsibility, and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with claimants, insureds, insurance adjusters, repair facilities, or other parties involved in claims.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active claims simultaneously.
  • Comfortable handling disputed claims, difficult conversations, and negotiations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in documentation.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to take ownership of assigned claims and follow through until resolution.
Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following areas is highly valued:

  • Auto physical damage claims
  • Commercial auto or motor truck cargo insurance claims
  • Transportation and logistics claims
  • Insurance adjusting or claims administration
  • Property and casualty claims
  • Fleet vehicle damage claims
  • Automotive repair estimating and appraisals
  • Third-party claims administration
  • Total-loss investigations and settlements
  • Insurance coverage disputes and claim denials
  • Negotiating settlements with insurance carriers
  • Working directly with insurance adjusters and claims departments

Previous experience with an insurance carrier, third-party administrator, transportation company, fleet organization, rental vehicle company, or dealership group is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

The right candidate will be able to take ownership of assigned claims, gather and evaluate evidence, determine what happened, communicate with the parties involved, and move claims toward a fair and timely resolution.

We're not looking for someone who simply processes paperwork.

We're looking for someone who investigates, communicates, follows through, solves problems, and takes pride in getting claims resolved.

Why Join Auto Transport Claims?

Auto Transport Claims is a growing company focused on changing how vehicle damage claims are handled within the auto transportation industry.

We're building a team that values accountability, communication, sound judgment, and exceptional customer service.

Unlike a traditional large insurance organization, ATC offers the opportunity to work closely with company leadership, contribute to the development of our claims operation, and have a meaningful impact on the business.

As our company continues to expand, we want to create opportunities for our employees to grow professionally, take on additional responsibilities, and build long-term careers.

We're looking for people who want to be part of building something successful, not simply filling another position.

If you're an experienced claims professional who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow with an ambitious company, we'd love to hear from you.
