Butte Area Social Emotional Solutions Learning Center, (BASES) is a public school that is run

through a cooperative effort between Butte County Office of Education and supervised by the Butte

County SELPA. We proudly serve students in grades 3-12 with behavior-involved disabilities who have

unfortunately been unsuccessful in any other program in the county. We strive to provide the

students with a safe and nurturing environment while giving them the skills to return to their

school of origin.

The team at BASES works together to develop a program that is heavily based in relationship

building with a behavioral approach. Every program decision we make, we view it through a trifold

lens: the social emotional/clinical needs, the behaviorist approach and the academic support needed

for each child individually. We explain it to the students as, "the heart, the head and the hands."

We use the analogy of baseball to support the students in learning to make healthy choices that

involve all three of those

areas. Here is a link to more details of what the daily program includes: BASES Newsletter
